Time For Testing
This was a fairly basic installation for Avionics West,
just a center stack of radios, no custom panels, autopilot, weather or other
boxes at this time. We didn't get any pics of the harness build-up due to the
fact most of that happened over the Christmas Holidays. The shot you see here is one of the techs
burning in the equipment and alignment. Normally we apply power to the
equipment for a day or so, then align the equipment and complete all the set up
procedures. Normally if something is going to fail, it will fail during our
burn-in period. With modern avionics such as you see here, "Out of Box"
failures are very rare, this wasn't true in the old days, I'm glad those days
are gone! Notice there's plenty of room in the radio stack to add equipment in
the future should the owner decide to do so. Also, there's a huge space above
the co-pilots yoke and several holes in the pilot's panel to add equipment in
the future. Seldom do we have such a luxury. The avionics installed here will
put this Cessna T210 into the next generation. I'd be willing to bet in a short
period of time the owner will have a desire to fill those empty holes in the
panel...
